Sangiovese, 2005 - SOLD OUT

This Sangiovese comes from the Doebler Vineyard, a west facing rock pile overlooking the Columbia River at Sentinel Gap in the Wahluke Slope Appellation. It is a very warm site and Sangiovese excels here. The restricted soil helps to control vine vigor and produce a moderate crop, emphasizing the fragrant characters of the variety. As practiced in Tuscany, a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon has been blended with the Sangiovese, enhancing the structure and flesh of the wine.

Winemaker’s Notes:
Strawberry and loganberry aromas; light, fresh entry on the palate, tannins are refined and elegant, strawberries linger on the palate; a wine for all seasons ~ serious enough for a Tuscan game dinner but fresh enough for lighter summer fare.
